The Austin A40 Sports made its debut at the 1950 Earls Court motor show. It was designed by Jensen chief designer Eric Neale using the chassis and running gear of the successful Austin A40 Devon saloon. The Austin A40 Sports is the first British design to follow the post-war Italian "continental" lines.
